We've always had bonfires here, from our very first days here, and they've become a standard part of life ever since. We're always producing a lot of waste wood, from coppicing, and general garden waste liek brambles that burn well when they've dried out a bit. We've just had what will probably be our last bonfire of the year this weekend:
It's amazing how quickly it all burns away to ash. We didn't cook in this one, but foil-wrapped potatoes and onions have definitely become a regular bonfire feature!
