Forestry

There's no escaping the fact that forestry is a big industry in Limousin.  There are plantations of tall fir trees everywhere, often on fairly small plots between areas of deciduous growth.  You see some pretty impressive piles of wood waiting to be taken to the sawmills.

This is quite a modest one that we saw on the way to Meymac.  The one round the corner was very big, but they were still busy working there so we couldn't stop to take a photo. Pity.
