I have no idea why it works, but it does. It's fair to admit that we do get a fair amount of house flies hereabouts, and like most folks we use good old-fashioned sticky fly papers that deal with a good number of them. But we've never invested in one of those door curtain things that you hang at your open door and that are supposed to keep the little critters out. Memories of multi-coloured plastic strips at caravan doors come to mind. But today we went to Maxi-Gif in Aubusson to get the cheapest one we could find, not believing it would work at all.
Of course, we were entirely wrong. Just how a beaded curtain (which doesn't look too bad actually!), with gaps between the strings of beads, can deter flies from coming in, I do not know. But it does. Hooray! Result!
